Prenatal Consultations For Mums And Dads

Each woman receives a document that allows you to note, at each consultation, whether the pregnancy is progressing normally and the approximate date of the next consultation

Prenatal consultations constitute a set of care whose combination considerably reduces the risk of a bad outcome. Maternal and infant mortality rates are directly linked to it.

For example, pregnant women receive a tetanus vaccine, malaria prevention, and preventive medication for anemia. They are also advised to sleep under a mosquito net, and they receive information on gestational diabetes as well as advice on how to eat healthier. The father of the child is also encouraged to attend one or more consultations prenatal care so that he is more closely associated with the pregnancy and can support his wife. Make A Birth Plan

In addition to a medical check-up in Unity Screen for example, the nursing staff helps future parents to draw up a birth plan. This involves examining various practical questions such as: in which health center or hospital will you give birth? How many miles away is it? Can you walk there? If not, what means of transport will you use to get there? Is this transport also available at night? Parents are also encouraged to think about looking after their other children in their absence. Finally, expectant parents are encouraged, if possible, to put some money aside for possible unforeseen hospital costs.

Intense, Shooting Pain

When multiple pregnancies are terminated prematurely, as in the case of Kintu for example, an underlying medical condition is often the cause; in this case, the woman should spend the last weeks of her pregnancy in or near the hospital to be closely monitored. But future mothers are not always aware of this possibility. This is also essential information that is discussed during prenatal consultations.

Visits To The Obstetrician

Obstetrical visits are scheduled according to the week of gestation and the state of health of the mother and baby. So here is the most common control scheme:

Every four weeks: up to 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Every two weeks: from week 28 to week 36 inclusive.

Once a week: from week 37 until birth.

In the case of a high-risk pregnancy, the diet is adapted to individual needs and what the doctor deems appropriate.

See You At All Checkups And Prenatal Care

Performing all prenatal exams promptly is the best way to maintain a healthy pregnancy up to the 40th week of gestation. In addition to scheduled check-ups, consider going to the doctor’s office if you have a fever, severe abdominal pain, or bleeding and when symptoms appear that your obstetrician has mentioned.
